Verification by specialists
Our articles are signed by an anonymous editorial team. When a specialist has verified a page, the page says so, with their speciality and the date, but without their name.
The specialists who verify our articles
No specialist has joined the verification yet. Our articles are published and linked to their sources, but none of them shows the “Verified by a specialist” notice yet: we never show it without a real, signed verification.
Who can verify
- A person authorised to practise a health profession in Switzerland or France, listed in a public register (for example MedReg in Switzerland or the RPPS in France).
- A person with expertise in the subject being verified, within a scope defined in writing.
- An independent person: they do not write the texts they verify, do not publish them, and their pay does not depend on their decision.
Why names are not published
The specialists who verify our articles do so anonymously, like our editorial team. Their identity is not hidden from the editorial team: before any verification, a member of the team (other than the specialist) checks their identity and their right to practise in the official register, and records the evidence consulted. If this information changes, the check must be carried out again.
Only their speciality, their scope and their conflicts of interest are published, if they agree to it.
What “Verified by a specialist” means
The verification covers a specific version, identified by a digital fingerprint. The specialist ticks off each of the page's statements and states whether the sources were checked. If the text changes afterwards, the notice disappears until the page is verified again. A page without this notice remains published: it is written from the sources cited, which you can consult.
Each language is verified on its own: a verification of a page in one language does not carry over to its translation. The English and German versions were translated from the French text with an AI tool; each translated statement still has to be checked against its sources.
